Program Spotlight

Young Entrepreneurs Lab

A kid-sized business lab where students design products, plan simple “mini businesses,” and practice sharing their ideas with confidence — all in a fun, hands-on way.

Ages 8–12 Entrepreneurship Project-Based Confidence Building

How this program works

Young Entrepreneurs Lab runs as a short, focused series inside our STEM schedule. Kids go from idea to simple “kid business” plan with plenty of support and examples.

  • Fast-Track style: Runs in short sessions (for example, 4–6 weeks at a time).
  • Small groups: Limited seats so each student gets help with their project.
  • Mix & match: Often paired with Engineering, Maker, or Money Smart themes.

What kids work on

  • Brainstorming product or service ideas they could offer as kids
  • Designing simple products, logos, and “brand” names
  • Planning basic pricing and costs using kid-friendly examples
  • Practicing short pitches to explain their idea to others
  • Creating posters, menus, or mini “storefront” displays

The focus is on creativity and confidence, not perfection. Every step is broken down and guided.

Skills they build

  • Entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving
  • Goal setting and basic planning skills
  • Money awareness: costs, prices, and simple profit
  • Teamwork and communication with peers
  • Confidence speaking in front of a small group
