Hands-on builds, simple robotics, and real-world engineering challenges. Kids learn how things move, balance, and stay strong using kid-friendly tools — with light intro coding for older students.
What We Do in Robotics & Engineering
This program lives inside our current Engineering & Building theme. Each week, kids build something new using LEGO®, building sets, KEVA planks, and other hands-on materials. Older students layer in simple robotics, motors, and intro coding as part of our Fast-Track and evening labs.
For younger builders (ages 5–8)
- Gentle intro to gears, pulleys, and wheels.
- Mini-builds that focus on balance and strength.
- Step-by-step guided projects with lots of help.
- Simple “try it and see” experiments.
For older builders (ages 9–12)
- Structured challenges with time limits or goals.
- Intro to motors, sensors, and simple robotics kits.
- Block-based intro coding in select robotics projects.
- Team builds: bridges, cranes, marble runs & more.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
1. Warm-Up & Mini-Challenge
Quick build or problem-of-the-day to get everyone thinking like engineers.
2. Main Build
Kids follow age-appropriate plans to build towers, bridges, vehicles, or simple robots.
3. Test & Improve
We test for strength, distance, or speed, then make changes to improve each design.
4. Share & Clean Up
Short show-and-tell so kids can see each other’s ideas and practice explaining their thinking.
Common Questions
Do kids need any experience?
No. We expect a mix of beginners and kids who already love building. Projects are leveled so everyone feels successful.
Will my child be in a class with big kids?
Our schedule separates Junior (ages 5–8) and Core (ages 9–12) blocks. Mixed-age labs are clearly labeled on the schedule.
How often should we come?
Most families choose the 3 Classes per Week membership for faster progress. 1 Class per Week is great for starting out or busy seasons, and Unlimited is best for kids who want to be here all the time.
Is this the same as your Fast-Track program?
Weekly labs are included with membership. Fast-Track is a separate, small-group 6-week certificate program that goes deeper into Robotics, Engineering & Coding during our evening 6:00–7:00 PM blocks.
